Walking & Hiking Adventures
Trails, tales and wild places across the Ribble Valley, Pendle Hill, Rossendale, the Lakes and the Dales
A full-value Lake District mountain day over the Old Man of Coniston, with rugged paths, mining history and superb summit views.
A classic Pendle Hill walk from the Ribble Valley, climbing steadily to Lancashire’s most iconic summit for wide views over the Dales, Bowland and beyond.
Waugh’s Well is a breezy 10.5 km Rossendale moorland loop with big views, Cowpe Reservoir and the wild edge of Scout Moor.
Scaleber Force Loop from Long Preston is a lovely Yorkshire Dales walk to a dramatic limestone waterfall, with quiet lanes, fields and woodland paths.
A varied 10km loop from Rylstone, up to Rylstone Cross, over Cracoe Fell for lunch at the war memorial, then down via Abraham’s Hill and Nine Gates back to the village.
A shorter Pendle Hill option for a quicker outing, still packing in a satisfying climb and broad views over Lancashire.
I'm a (mostly) solo hiker based in the north of England, spending my weekends and days off exploring the hills, moorlands and valleys on my doorstep. From the limestone walls of the Yorkshire Dales to the wild fells of home-town of Rossendale, I try to get out as often as I can.
This site is my record of those adventures, routes, photos and notes from the trail. Pendle Hill is a particular favourite.
